Marija Manojlovic

Executive Director
Marija is the Executive Director of Safe Online. Overseeing a robust USD 100 million investment portfolio, she strategically channels resources into tech, capacities and research to combat digital threats to children, especially online Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (CSEA). A fierce advocate, Marija ensures children's digital safety is a keystone in global policy discussions on sustainable development and frontier technologies. She firmly believes in and champions the position that online privacy and safety are both essential and achievable. Before her role at Safe Online, she honed her expertise with the End Violence Global Partnership and UNICEF across diverse regions working on issues at the intersection of innovation, research, partnerships and system reform. Marija holds an MSc in International Relations and Diplomacy from Leiden University, Netherlands.

Marija is passionate about building and working with diverse teams. In her free time, she likes to paint and listen to jazz.

Serena Tommasino

Senior Knowledge & Advocacy Lead
Serena has worked for over 15 years at the intersection of violence prevention, technology development and evidence generation to secure the best outcomes for children and young people. She is passionate about ensuring that children are protected and able to thrive in safe and nurturing environments, including digital ones.

Serena is known as a collaborative expert delivering top quality results with great ability to deal with complex initiatives and negotiations in multiple contexts, including at international level and in complex stakeholder networks. Her experience cuts across policy, advocacy, programs and partnerships with direct experience within the UN system, EU and CSOs in the USA, UK, East Africa, North Africa and South Asia.

She holds a BA & MA with Distinction in Sociology, a Master in Program Management, and a Research Fellowship on Culture & Technology at the University of Toronto. Serena is based in Tunis with all the things she loves the most, her two daughters, the sun and the sea!

Miguel Garcia Egido

Fund Chief
Miguel joined Safe Online in July 2020, after working for 5 years for the United Nations Office for Project Services in South East Asia as a Project Manager and Business Development Specialist focusing on good governance, health and education. Miguel is also a permanent Senior Technical Specialist in Human and Social Sciences,with the Spanish Civil Service.

More recently, he has been upgrading his skills in the fields of emerging technologies as well as design thinking and human-centred design. Miguel has a Master’s in Public Management and a Dual Bachelor’s in Law and Political Sciences. Miguel is passionate about outdoor sports, such as rock climbing, surfing and mountain biking. But above all, he loves hiking in nature with his dog Gustavo.

Manveen Kohli

Senior Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Specialist
Manveen has built her career in global public health and evaluation, dedicating 13 years to partnering with government entities, international organisations and notable UN agencies across Asia, especially in India and Cambodia. Before stepping into her role at Safe Online in 2021, she held a position as the Multi-Trust Fund Coordinator for the World Bank's Health Equity and Quality Improvement Project. In this capacity, Manveen spearheaded an evaluation to enhance healthcare services and fortify financial safeguards for Cambodia's vulnerable populations.

Additionally, her expertise shaped five programme evaluations that informed UNICEF's India Country Programme Strategy 2018–2021. Manveen holds a Master's in Gender and International Development from the University of Warwick, UK. Outside of work, she enjoys travelling and exploring new places and cultures, dancing and watching sunsets.

Tahseen Alam

Communications Specialist
Tahseen is a communications professional with over 13 years of experience in advocacy, external communications and youth engagement with the UN and other international organisations across South Asia and East Africa. She has also been a reluctant journalist for a brief moment in her life.

Tahseen leads the external communication portfolio at Safe Online and is a committed child rights activist and believes that all children everywhere should have access to a safe and enabling digital environment.

Tahseen has a Master’s in Public Policy from Cornell University, USA; a post-graduate diploma in broadcast Journalism and a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the University of Mumbai, India. She is based in San Francisco and is happiest hiking in the beautiful trails around the city.

Natalie Shoup

Industry and Data Lead
Natalie, previously worked with the non-profit Nest to tackle child sexual exploitation and trafficking through engaging with communities of young people, educators and experts in prevention education and victim support programmes. Natalie has been involved in the work of Developing Minds Foundation in various capacities over the past 10 years, most recently as Executive Director.

She supported community-based NGOs in the US, Brazil and Colombia working in providing protection, education and psychosocial support for children, youth and families affected by violence. Previously, Natalie was Program Manager at Data-Pop Alliance, a coalition hosted by MIT Media Lab, Harvard Humanitarian Initiative and Overseas Development Institute. She managed multisectoral project and research partnerships at the intersection of data science and social good, as well as coordinating the creation and implementation of private-public data sharing models. She has a BSEng from Princeton University and a Master's from the Faculty of Education at Cambridge University.

Elisa Soares

Budget and Finance Specialist
Elisa brings extensive experience from working in the context of global programme partnerships. Her career spans over 20 years in and outside the UN in office management and coordination support, budgeting and contributions management, monitoring and reporting.

Elisa is a national of Cape Verde and holds a Master’s in Agriculture and Applied Economics. She has lived and worked in many different countries and contexts and enjoys playing tennis.

Sandra Daniels-Harte

Senior Administrative Associate
Sandra joined the Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children in July 2018. Prior to joining the Partnership, she worked with UNICEF NY, UNICEF Guyana and the Central Bank of Guyana. Sandra holds a Masters in Business Administration and a Bachelor's in Social Work.

When she's not busy working she likes to read, write and spend time with her family.
