The French Laboratory to Protect Children Online, the Safe Online Initiative (End Violence Global Partnership) and the WeProtect Global Alliance are co-hosting the ‘Data for Change Technical Workshop’ on 8–9 November 2023 in Paris, France. The workshop will be followed by the ‘Safe Digital Futures for Children High-level Event’, a ministerial event featuring esteemed speakers from diverse sectors – government, industry, civil society, global coalitions, etc.
This collaboration aims to illuminate the magnitude and complexity of digital challenges facing children, and foster a cross-sector dialogue on precise problem identification, efficacy in measures, and galvanising political momentum. The workshop and event will leverage the Paris Peace Forum’s influential platform to advocate for fortified child-centric digital prevention and response mechanisms.
The Technical Workshop builds on the Data for Change Initiative launched in November 2022 aiming at elaborating collaborative strategies to improve the global data landscape on online sexual abuse of children and young people. This includes how existing data can be better communicated and used to inform investments and solutions across sectors and levels, and what needs to be done to fill in the data gaps and support effective advocacy, practice and solutions at the global, regional and national levels.
The High-level Event will focus on key announcements around the French Laboratory to Protect Children Online, including the definition of new priority areas, partners and plans for the second year of the Laboratory’s efforts.
You can still view all the details about the open call that ran up until 31 October while we review all applications and make decisions.
We will be attending and serving on a number of panels and hosting a workshop at the Paris Peace Forum but for even more details you can see their website below.
